Child Support

Buncombe County Child Support Services encourages parental responsibility so that children receive financial, emotional, and medical support from both parents, even when they live in separate households.

Child Support provides the following services:

  • Locate non-custodial parents
  • Establish paternity
  • Establish support orders
  • Enforce support orders
  • Modify orders when appropriate

Individuals currently receiving Work First, family Medicaid, or Child Care subsidies are automatically referred to the local child support agency for services.

However, services are available to any applicant. To apply for services, complete the Application for Child Support Services and the Child Support Supplemental Data Sheet and return the documents to this office. Applications are also available on a walk-in basis at our office.

You may download English and Spanish versions of Application for Child Support Services and Child Support Supplemental Data Sheet below.
