Story Times for Kids at the library focuses on early literacy as it helps children develop a joy for learning language and enjoying books.

4 months to 18 months

Baby Story Time is a lively language enrichment story time serving our youngest folks—the 4 month-old to 18 month-old set.

18 months to 3 years

Toddler Times are interactive story times for children ages 18 months to 3 years.

3 to 5 year-olds

Preschool story times are geared towards 3-5 year-olds and include singing, stretchers, and creative activities.

Many libraries can accommodate groups or school field trips if arrangements are made in advance.

Preschool Outreach Program

POP, a free service of the Buncombe County Public Library, takes the resources of the library to children in childcare centers.

Childcare Providers

Are you interested in library outreach services for your childcare center? Bring your class to Pack Library for a Story Time, or request a Story Time at your preschool or child care. Visits are free, usually lasting around 30 minutes.

With the help of enthusiastic volunteers, thousands of preschoolers in Buncombe County have an fantastic opportunity for joy and learning though books.
