With the current weather system moving through, the National Weather Service is advising that the majority of Buncombe County will receive approximately two inches of precipitation through Tuesday at 8 p.m.
In the eastern area of the County, however, that accumulation could be closer to three inches. The National Weather Service has advised that three inches or more of precipitation could initiate landslides on modified (e.g. developed) slopes.
Additional weather impacts include:
- Elevated risks of lightning, especially in the southern and eastern parts of the county
- Fog, the most dense of which also will be in the eastern part of the county
This weather event is not predicted to have impacts like those we saw during Helene, but nuisance flooding is possible. Remember "Turn Around, Dont Drown" - never drive through flooded roadways.
