Community Health Assessment (CHA) is the foundation for improving and promoting the health of county residents. Community health assessment is a key step in the continuous community health improvement process. The role of CHA is to identify factors that affect the health of a population and determine the availability of resources within the county to adequately address these factors. 2018 Buncombe County Community Health Assessment Report North Carolina’s Department of Health & Human Services requires that Buncombe County conduct a Community Health Assessment at least every four years. The most recent CHA was completed in December, 2018.
