As a part of the County Commissioners strategic priorities, Buncombe County adopted a resolution which set a goal of reaching 100% renewable energy for county operations by 2030 and for the entire community by 2042.
County Staff is working in collaboration with City of Asheville staff to engage a consultant to develop a road map to implement the County and City's 100% Renewable Energy goals. The Project team, led by The Cadmus Group, is working with City and County staff to collect data and public input to determine the most fiscally responsible path to achieving these goals based on the values of our community.
