Buncombe County Public Libraries can now lend library eBooks to Kindles. Visit the North Carolina Digital Library and log in with your Buncombe County Library card number and your PIN, which is the last four digits of your home phone number.
You can search for Kindle friendly book titles and transfer them wirelessly to your Kindle. You will be able to keep your library book on your Kindle for two weeks – then the book will expire and return itself.
There are never any overdue fees for digital books. The digital library also has audio books, music and books for children. You can log into the digital library 24/7 and visit the library anytime without ever leaving home.
Digital books can also be downloaded to other book readers like Nooks, Sony readers, iPods, MP3 players and a number of other digital devices.
Buncombe County residents can get a free library card by coming to any of the 12 library locations in Buncombe County. If you have any questions, call 250-4700 or email library@buncombecounty.org.
