Buncombe County Clinical Services would like to recognize its Medical Office Assistant (MOA) team during the National Nursing Assistant Week on June 12-18!
The MOA team works alongside providers, nurses, and pharmacy staff to ensure that Buncombe County residents are welcomed into a safe and inviting environment during their visit. MOAs in the clinic work in the Sexually Transmitted Infection clinic, family planning, reproductive health, Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program, and PrEP medication!
MOAs function in both administrative and clinical roles, not only helping with office visits and procedures but also following up on referrals and ensuring clients get scheduled for appointments with outside providers.
Here are some ways MOAs make a difference:
- They are often the first point of contact for clients in our clinic. As this first point of contact, it’s important to build trust and a sense of ease in the clinic.
- Our MOAs work hard every day to ensure that our clients feel heard and comfortable while receiving our services.
- They help the clinic with monitoring client flow and assisting providers with certain procedures and physical exams.
Healthcare is ever evolving. Processes and programs change, and the MOA team stands ready to meet the needs of our clients and community.
Join us in thanking them this week, and every week!
