
Buncombe County is seeking a dedicated and engaged Community Representative to serve on the Public Safety Communications Steering Committee (CSC).
This is a two-year volunteer position that plays a vital role in shaping the operations and performance oversight of the county’s 911 call center.
The CSC meets at least quarterly to:
- Review 911 performance and compliance data
- Address questions, operational issues, and agency disputes
- Discuss and provide recommendations on 911 operations and strategy
The Community Representative will be selected through a competitive application process. Final selection will be made by CSC members through a majority vote.
Ideal Candidate Qualities:
- Resides in Buncombe County
- Has a strong interest in public safety and community service
- Brings a collaborative and solutions-focused perspective
- Willing to attend quarterly meetings and engage in public dialogue
