NC Agricultural Disaster Crop Loss Program Now Open

The NC General Assembly has established the Agricultural Disaster Crop Loss Program, which is a one-time financial assistance program for those who experienced agricultural losses during any declared disaster in 2024, including Tropical Storm Helene.

In order to be eligible for the program:

  • Applicants must have experienced a verifiable loss of agriculture or aquaculture commodities or farm infrastructure as a result of a Presidential or Secretarial declared disaster (including contiguous counties) in 2024.
  • The farm must be located in an affected area for the respective agricultural disaster.
  • The commodity or aquaculture must have been planted or being raised before the official declared date of the disaster for the county in which the commodities or infrastructure are located and for which verifiable losses are claimed.
