Black Legacy Month is a time to honor and reflect on the accomplishments, struggles, innovations, and successes of Black Americans across the nation and in Buncombe County. This February, one of the ways we are honoring Black Legacy Month is by looking at how our past, current, and future efforts are helping further our commitment to racial equity, one of Buncombe County’s strategic priorities guided by our Racial Equity Action Plan.
We must be intentional about recognizing the past while moving toward a more inclusive Buncombe County. As we work to continually improve our efforts concerning equity, diversity, and inclusion, we want to share some of our initiatives from 2023.
