Sand Hill Community Garden Celebrates Another Bountiful Year

At Buncombe County Sports Park, Sand Hill Community Garden's dedicated group of volunteers sow seeds of kindness and nourishment all year. With 1,290 collective hours of service, their efforts have yielded an impressive 2,323 pounds of fresh, organic produce. Remarkably, 92% of this bounty, equivalent to over 1 ton, has been donated to two local food pantries in 2023.

Behind this impressive harvest are the 20 regular volunteers who generously contribute their time, passion, and expertise to tend to the garden. Their commitment shines through as they work diligently for approximately 11 months each year, ensuring that the garden remains a vibrant source of sustenance for the community.

If you are interested in becoming a part of this community garden, whether you have a green thumb or simply a willingness to contribute, new volunteers are always welcome to join this collective effort.
