Learn to paint with watercolors at two free classes in August. Both classes are free, but you will need to register.
Exploring Watercolor Landscapes
Saturday, Aug. 5 from 1-2 p.m.
Leicester Library - 1561 Alexander Road – (828) 250-6480
Do you find watercolor too daunting? Are you comfortable with watercolor but want to take it to the next level? Either way, this class is for you. We'll look at the intricacies and pitfalls of this most challenging but rewarding medium; how to gauge your color values, create the textures you want, create an inviting composition, and keep your watercolors under control.
With over 40 years of art teaching experience James Cassara doesn't claim to be a master watercolorist, but he'll gladly share what he does know in a supportive and relaxed atmosphere.
Weather permitting we'll begin outside, sketching our surroundings and deciding on our composition. From there we'll move indoors, learn a bit about materials, and put brush to paper. It'll be fast paced, informative, and (most importantly) fun!
This event is free, but you do need to register. Please visit the library web page and use the link on the calendar for this program to sign up. Materials will be provided
