Friday, June 9, 2023, is a code YELLOW air quality forecast day for the valleys and ridgetops of Asheville and Buncombe County.
This means air quality is generally acceptable. However, there may be a risk for some people, particularly those who are unusually sensitive to air pollution. These populations should consider reducing prolonged or heavy outdoor exertion and watch for symptoms such as coughing or shortness of breath.
Saturday, June 10, 2023, is also expected to be a code YELLOW air quality forecast day. Conditions should return to code GREEN on Sunday.
