Buncombe County Memorial Day Schedules
Buncombe County Government offices will be closed on Monday, May 29 in observance of Memorial Day.
Buncombe County, along with the City of Asheville and the Veterans Council, will host a Memorial Day ceremony on Monday starting at 2 p.m. at the Roger McGuire Green in Pack Square Park. There will also be a Memorial Day Ceremony at the Western North Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, 962 Old US Highway 70, Black Mountain at 10 a.m. May 29.
Buncombe County Government Office Closures:
Solid Waste
Buncombe County Landfill and Transfer station will be closed for Memorial Day, May 29. Waste Pro will be closed Monday and will operate on a one day collection delay for rest of week, resuming service on Tuesday, May 30.
Recreation Services
Administrative offices are closed on Monday, May 29. All Buncombe County parks are open regular hours on Monday, May 29. All five Buncombe County outdoor pools are open on Saturday, May 27 through Monday, May 29.
Libraries
All Buncombe County public libraries, per their normal schedule, are closed on Monday, May 29. Access our digital resources at buncombecounty.org/library.
Buncombe County Courthouse
Buncombe County courts observe the North Carolina Judicial Branch Holiday schedule and will be closed Monday, May 29.
Mountain Mobility
Mountain Mobility is only operating ADA paratransit service on Monday, May 29. No other trips will be served.
Health & Human Services
All BCHHS offices including the Immunization Clinic will be closed Monday, May 29.
Register of Deeds
The Buncombe County Register of Deeds will be closed Monday, May 29. Online services will remain available.
Buncombe County Board of Elections
Administrative offices will be closed Monday, May 29.
Buncombe County Courthouse
Buncombe County courts observe the North Carolina Judicial Branch holiday schedule and will be closed Monday, May 29.
Emergency Services
Administrative offices will be closed Monday, May 29. EMS and 911 will maintain normal operations.
City/County Bureau of Identification
The City/County Bureau of Identification administrative office will be closed Monday, May 29. An appointment is required for all fingerprint services.
