Honoring Heroes: National First Responders Day

They are the ones who are there when we need them, showing up at life’s worst moments. Oct. 28 is National First Responders Day, and Buncombe County could not be more proud of all the First Responders who serve our community. From inclement weather to traffic accidents, from fires to health emergencies; first responders always answer the call. Thank you today and every day for your dedication, sacrifice, and hard work keeping our community safe. To all the EMS employees, 911 telecommunicators, law enforcement personnel, firefighters, public health medical staff, volunteers, and others who serve the public as first responders in the event of an emergency, Buncombe County wants you to know you are appreciated and we applaud your work.

Recently, the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce recognized several Buncombe County first responders at their annual Family Get-Down by the River event. These hometown heroes were honored for giving back to our community and going above and beyond their normal roles. Check out that article and pictures here
