Boost Your Health This Season- Get Protected Against COVID and Flu

Here’s the situation.

Bad news first:

We know that COVID-19 and its variants have been and continue to circulate in our community.  The Flu is now starting to spread as well. Both of these illnesses can be unpredictable and have highly individualized health impacts. One person with COVID-19 or the Flu may be just fine while others may require hospitalization or even lose their lives.

The good news:

Vaccines work! Both the COVID-19 and Flu vaccines are scientifically proven to reduce severe illness, hospitalizations, and flu/covid related death. Vaccines act as a shield of protection for our community- which grows stronger as more people get vaccinated. Importantly, the new COVID-19 Booster now provides protection against COVID-19 and its variants. If you are 12+ and received your last COVID shot 2+ months ago, you are eligible for the new COVID-19 Booster.

Added bonus, both vaccines are free and widely available in Buncombe County.

The Buncombe County Immunizations Clinic is located at 40 Coxe Avenue in downtown Asheville. We offer two options for getting your immunizations at our facility. First, you can call (828) 250-5096 and make an appointment that fits your schedule. We also offer a wide range of walk-in hours for your convenience. Walk-in hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday between 8-11:30 AM and on Tuesday and Thursday between 1-4:30 PM.

Buncombe County Health and Human Services is not the only vaccine provider in town, however. To find additional vaccine locations for both COVID-19 and Flu by using the tools linked below.
