New Tool for the Community For Boards and Big County Projects

The Communication and Public Engagement Department is very excited to introduce you to our public engagement portal, engage.buncombecounty.org. The portal is hosted through Publicinput.com, a Community Engagement Software for Government. This public engagement portal will help us share information instantly and help bring more transparency to our Boards and Commissions meetings and decision-making processes for our community. This platform is user-friendly and can gather real-time ideas and feedback from the community. CAPE will be providing an overview of engage.buncombecounty.org in three phases starting this month.

Why now? Buncombe County Government has named Equity as one of our values. We want to continue identifying opportunities to create a more equitable structure through this platform. This platform creates access for our residents with more than 100 languages, and also creates a one-stop shop for our community to view, participate, and guide government processes. Check out this special interview with one of our incredible partners from the City of Asheville, Director of Equity and Inclusion, Brenda Mills, to learn how it’s changed how they inform, consult, engage, and partner with the community.
