Join members of the Blue Ridge Audubon Society for a guided bird-watching excursion around the Beaver Lake Bird Sanctuary Saturday, April 9 at 9 a.m. The Blue Ridge Audubon Society manages this eight-acre wetland around the edge of Beaver Lake, just off Merrimon Avenue. In addition to providing habitat for a multitude of birds, the sanctuary is home to many species of butterflies and other local wildlife.
The bird walk is free, but registration is required.
Binoculars will be available to borrow, but folks are welcome to bring their own if they have them. This event will be held rain or shine.
Parking is available at the North Asheville library, the walk will start at the gazebo by the lake in the bird sanctuary (just down the hill from the library). The bird walk is intended for birders ages 18 and up.
