Weather Update: Community Care Stations Opening at 10 a.m. Sunday, Parks at Noon

Sunday Update

Buncombe County Community Care Stations will reopen on Sunday, Jan. 12 at 10 a.m. Buncombe County Parks, including Lake Julian, will reopen Sunday, Jan. 12 at noon. 

Community Care Stations are open until 7 p.m. with showers, laundry, and more available at no cost.

Saturday Update

Due to inclement weather, Buncombe County operations are closed Saturday, Jan. 11. This includes parks, libraries, landfill, transfer station, and administrative offices. 

- Due to unsafe road conditions and travel being highly discouraged, Community Care Stations also are closed.

-Buncombe County public safety and emergency communications will operate on a regular schedule. The Buncombe County winter storm emergency operations center has been activated.

-The Buncombe County Courthouse is also closed.

-FCC Environmental trucks were unable to complete Friday routes and will not be able to perform collections on Saturday. Customers will receive additional information about next week's collection.   

-All FEMA Helene Disaster Recovery Centers in North Carolina are closed Friday-Saturday, Jan. 10-11, due to inclement weather. They will reopen at 8 a.m. Monday, Jan. 13.
