Let’s Talk COVID-19: The Vaccine Part II, on Wednesday, February 10th from 5:30-6:30 PM
The YWCA of Asheville and WNC and Buncombe County Health and Human Services presents Let’s Talk COVID-19: The Vaccine, Part II. Part I of this two-part event focused on the historical and lived experiences of Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) seeking medical care in the United States. The discussion of what restoration of trust can look like, by the panelists, offered action steps that are vital to creating a culture of trust between the medical system and BIPOC populations. This groundwork set the stage for the upcoming Let’s Talk COVID-19: The Vaccine Part II.
During Part II, our panel of health advocates will dive into the science behind the vaccine and what to expect if you choose to take it. Dr. Lavender, Chief Program Officer at YWCA of Asheville will moderate this town hall. Lavender shares that “I, like many of you, have sincere questions about the COVID-19 vaccine. I am working to educate myself so I can make an informed decision that is best for me, my family, and the community at large.”
Let’s Talk COVID-19: The Vaccine Part II will be live-streamed on Wednesday, February 10th, at 5:30 p.m. in English on Buncombe County Government’s Facebook page and in Spanish on Buncombe County Health and Human Services’ Facebook page.
