NC Cardinal is a statewide consortium of public libraries in 48 counties that share resources through the use of a single online catalog. NC Cardinal has over 7 million items statewide and you can request any of them free of charge. You can borrow materials from any NC Cardinal Library with your Buncombe County library card and have those items sent to the pickup library of your choice. You can return the items to any NC Cardinal Library and they will be sent back to their home. If you happen to be in another town that participates in NC Cardinal, you can walk into their library and use their resources with your Buncombe County Library Card.
To place holds on NC Cardinal items, visit buncombecounty.org/library and use the Library Catalog link. If you don’t have a library card, contact the library at library@buncombecounty.org and we can issue a card by email.
