Mountain Mobility, Buncombe County’s Community Transportation System, is continuing to provide service to the residents of Buncombe County. Some operating changes have taken place as a result of Buncombe County Government’s ongoing response to COVID-19.
Below are details regarding our current Mountain Mobility services.
- Mountain Mobility Operations office, located at 2000 Riverside Drive, and administrative offices located at 339 New Leicester Hwy. are currently closed to the public. Any customers needing assistance from Mountain Mobility can call (828) 250-6750 and select from our menu prompts in order to speak with a staff person at the appropriate office.
- Any Mountain Mobility customer with a fever and cough or difficulty breathing should not travel using public transportation and should instead contact a healthcare provider, or in the event of limited access to a healthcare provider, call (828) 250-5109. There are processes in place to ensure that you receive appropriate care.
- Mountain Mobility customers are encouraged to avoid or postpone any nonessential travel and stay as isolated as possible to help slow the spread of COVID-19 in Buncombe County.
- Mountain Mobility customers that determine a trip is essential and cannot be postponed, should confirm the destination is open before scheduling and taking a trip.
