Get a Box of Fresh Food from a Local Farm Monthly

Every year the Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project, or ASAP, puts on a fantastic CSA Fair. Know what a CSA is? If not, it stands for Community Supported Agriculture. It is a way for you to connect directly to a farm and get access to local produce directly from the farm.

For example, you can join a CSA with a local farm and every month they will either deliver or you can pick up a box at the farm with everything they have grown in the past month.

When you support your local farms through the CSA, you not only support local food, but you can directly benefit from it with amazing produce and more. So check out the CSA Fair, check out what farms are out there, what they offer, sometimes it’s vegetables, sometimes it’s meats, even flowers and home goods. There are a lot of possibilities so you don’t want to miss this fair.

  • Thursday, March 14
  • 3 p.m. – 6 p.m.
  • New Belgium Brewing Company
  • 21 Craven Street

About ASAP’s CSA Fairs

Fair goers will have the opportunity to browse different CSA programs and talk directly with farmers about their offerings. Farms will be set up at individual tables like a farmers market and will share information about their CSA programs, including what products they offer, where and when they deliver, and about their growing practices. It’s a friendly setting to learn more about your options, or bring your checkbook to subscribe right on the spot! Groups, such as workplaces, churches, or neighborhood associations, are encouraged to attend. Some participating farms will deliver directly to these locations if there is sufficient demand.

Children are welcome to attend the fairs. There will be family-friendly activities.

Types of Farms

ASAP’s CSA Fairs will feature Western North Carolina family farms offering vegetable, meat, or flower CSA.

Pickup Locations

Participating farms all have designated drop-off or pickup locations in Asheville or Buncombe County (Asheville CSA Fair) or in the High Country (Boone CSA Fair). Some farms will also deliver directly to a business or group that commits to a minimum number of shares. Learn about workplace CSA programs and bring community supported agriculture to your business.
