Eaton Corporation’s Arden Plant was recently honored with the Excellence in Air Quality Award by the WNC Regional Air Quality Agency (WNCRAQA) for their diligent work in reducing greenhouse gas and other air pollution emissions..
To support its plant objective to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption, it replaced 52,000 of the 134,000 square feet of roofing in 2019. Additional insulation was added to the roof in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations to achieve a further reduction of energy usage for the facility. In addition, two of the roof mounted HVAC units using were replaced with more efficient Energy Star units.
The projected annual decreases in greenhouse gas (carbon dioxide) emissions for the projects:
- 517,903 pounds of Carbon Dioxide for roofing upgrade
- 26,610 pounds of Carbon Dioxide for HVAC upgrade
