Preauthorized Debit Program  

The Buncombe County Tax Department offers a preauthorized debit program, which is similar to the “automatic bank draft” used by many companies.

This program will allow you to have a specified amount deducted each month from your bank account. To sign up for this program, please call the tax office at (828) 250-4910 to speak to a representative.

Since this is an on-going program, individuals may also choose this program to prepay upcoming tax bills. Many people use the debit program as a budgeting tool and sign up early. They have their taxes paid monthly instead of one lump sum at the end of the year during the busy holiday season.

Remember, tax bills should be paid by January 5th 2010 to avoid being delinquent.
