Getting to certain parts of Leicester using public transportation will get easier starting next year. On Nov. 5, Buncombe County Commissioners unanimously approved helping fund the City of Asheville’s bus system to expand coverage on route W4. The nearly $29,000 will help fund an extension of two miles and four stops for seven-day service to: Erwin Middle and High schools, the Villas at Fallen Spruce, and Carmel Ridge Apartments.
The new routes are slated to begin Jan. 5, 2020 and will run Mondays-Saturdays, 6 a.m.-11:55 p.m. and on Sundays, 8:40 a.m.-6:40 p.m. You can see a map of the extended route below. For more information about bus schedules, maps, and fees, click here.
