2016 is a milestone year for the Shindig on the Green in downtown Asheville as it's celebrating its 50th year! Come celebrate by taking part in this great downtown music scene at the Roger McGuire Green at Pack Square Park every Saturday. Bring your family, friends, lawn chairs, and blankets for what Mountain Xpress hailed as the #1 Local Outdoor Concert for three years in a row.
The opening Shinding on the Green is taking place on Saturday, June 26 featuring the Homecoming Team, Folk Heritage Smooth Dancers, and the Mountain Traditional Cloggers.
This event can take place every year thanks to the talent and generosity of its volunteer musicians and dancers, who span several generations much to the delight of those in the audience. This is a great family event for viewers of all ages.
