The Adult Services mission is to provide protective and supportive social work services which enhance the independence, dignity and right to self-determination of elderly and disabled adults.
To accomplish the above mission Adult Services has experienced Social Workers working with clients who require one of the services provided by the Adult Service unit.
Those services include
- Adult Care Home Case Management
- Adult Care Home Licensing and Monitoring
- Adult Protective Services
- Placement
- Intake
- Guardianship Case Management
- Adult Day Care
The Intake Social Worker is available during hours of operation, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to talk with any individual who either comes into the unit with questions or calls on the phone. The Adult Service Unit Social Workers are very knowledgeable about not only services provided directly by the Adult Service Unit but those of other community agencies.
The Adult Service Unit makes numerous referrals to other agencies as we work cooperatively to provide services to meet the needs of Buncombe County's residents.
