Five months in, Buncombe County's newest department, the Office of Sustainability, is making great strides in planning and implementing green county initiatives that reduce our carbon footprint while saving money. The Office of Sustainability serves as a resource and advocate for environmental sustainability in Buncombe County. Their mission is to foster a culture of sustainability throughout the County's operations and to support cost-saving green initiatives and actions within County operations and the community.
