The opioid crisis affects thousands across the country and the Buncombe County Sheriff's Office is on the front lines of the response. Naloxone, commonly known as Narcan, is a medication that blocks the effects of opioids and can reverse an overdose.
Recently the Sheriff's office provided training on the use of Narcan as well as opioid reversal kits to student resource officers and school nurses across Buncombe County. Narcan training can be a potential lifesaver in an overdose situation.
