The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office has completed an internal investigation surrounding an abuse of force complaint that occurred as a result of a student being arrested at Enka High School on Friday, September 20, 2013.
“The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office took the complaint from the Jones family on Friday and Internal Affairs has investigated the complaint. After interviewing the vice-principal, teachers and school administrators that witnessed the incident, it has been determined that Deputy Curtis Wallace acted appropriately while placing the student under arrest,” Sheriff Van Duncan stated.
Deputy Curtis Wallace is a School Resource Officer at Enka High School. He is currently on duty, serving in his capacity as a SRO. The student involved in this incident was arrested for misdemeanor disorderly conduct and resisting public officers.
