This Day in History: Felix Walker

"History is more or less bunk." - Henry Ford

While Ford had a valid point about living in the present, it's worth looking to the past and learning about Rep. Felix Walker, who in the early 1820's gained a bad reputation of "speaking for Buncombe." Eventually, his thoughts were dismissed as "bunkum" or "bunk," and a new word was added to the American Lexicon. Nowadays, we use "bunk" to describe nonsense, so take a lesson from Felix Walker- don't get caught speaking bunk.
