If you're part of the vast running community of Buncombe County, or you're a beginning looking for a great event to start on your 5K future, look no further than the Black Mountain Valentine's Day 5K. The 5K course offers several challenging hills and ample flats. As it's a Valentine's Day race, you can enter as a two-person team or solo. Clever outfits are both encouraged and rewarded.

All participants are included in the overall and age group awards for the race. There will also be a "Spirit Award" given to the most outrageous outfit. A free kid's run will start at 9am, with the actual 5K beginning at 9:30AM. The cost is $20 for each adult or $30 per couple.
