In accordance with the provisions outlined in the City of Asheville Unified Development Ordinance, let it hereby be known to all interested parties that a public meeting is to take place Wednesday, December 19th, 2018 at 6:30 pm.
The meeting will be located:
Asbury Hall
Groce United Methodist Church
954 Tunnel Rd, Asheville, NC 28805
The meeting will discuss the Schematic Design of the proposed new East Asheville Library to be located at 3 Avon Rd, Asheville, NC 28805.
East Asheville Library Background:
The current East Asheville Library is 2,717 SF and was constructed in 1965. East Asheville Library has the 5th highest circulation in the county and is lacking community meeting space and designated programmatic space to meet the Library’s current needs. The new design will provide a welcoming, vibrant environment; encouraging patrons to spend time and build community in and around the new space. The proposed plan is new 14,665 SF building with dedicated children, teen, and adult areas. The increase in size will provide critical space for increased programs, collections, computer access/ training, and programmatic needs.
