Provide Your Experience With Our Local Justice And Health Systems

JRAC Survey Article

Throughout our lives, we are all often impacted by multiple institutions and systems that can be difficult to navigate - such as criminal justice, education, health, and housing. To that end, the Justice Resource Advisory Council and the Public Health Department believe in the importance of working across these systems to ease the navigation, reduce disparities, and to improve the lives of our community members.

Buncombe County is part of a nationwide initiative to address disparities in our criminal justice system with a goal to reduce the jail population. It is also implementing multiple plans to reduce inequities within our health systems. By working in partnerships to engage our communities in these areas, the County aims to approach this work in a more meaningful, cooperative way.

Buncombe County is asking you, members of our community, to join its mission to make our systems more fair, effective, and accessible. By completing this survey and providing your answers and experiences with our local justice and health systems, you will be delivering a detailed vision of the needs within our community. Additionally, your answers will provide a guide on how we can make improvements and work toward our goals of building safer, healthier, and more resilient communities.

TAKE THE SURVEY HERE. It should take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete.

Your responses are voluntary and will be used to inform Buncombe County for the purpose of improvement in policies, practices, and procedures around the local criminal justice and health systems. Your responses will be combined with those of many others and summarized in a report to protect your anonymity.

You may skip any question you do not wish to answer for any reason and no personal, identifiable information will be captured unless you choose to share it. If you have questions or concerns about the survey, please send an email to tiffany.iheanacho@buncombecounty.org
