The Drug Enforcement Agency’s Take Back Day on Saturday, April 28, provides an opportunity for you to prevent drug addiction and overdose deaths. One of the Buncombe County Board of Commissioners’ Strategic Priorities is to stem the disease of opioid addiction in our community – a crisis that threatens the health and safety of a growing number of our neighbors. An important way that you can help is by stopping the flow of abused prescription drugs that come from yourself, your family, and your friends. If you have unused prescription drugs in your medicine cabinet, you could be a drug dealer and not even know it.
Participate in the DEA’s Drug Take Back Day, taking place SATURDAY, APRIL 28, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. by bring unneeded medications to:

Please Follow These Instructions:
- Remove identification from all medications. Separate pills, liquids, and inhalers. Use a different disposable paper or plastic bag for each type of medication. Empty dry pill medication into a bag; leave liquid medications in their original container and place in a separate bag. NO radioactive medications such as cancer medications. NO needles or sharps accepted.
