The 2018 Candidate Filing Period begins at noon on February 12, 2018 and ends at noon on February 28, 2018 for:
- The U.S. House
- N.C. Senate
- N.C. House
- District Attorney
- most other state offices
Filing will also be open for:
- Clerk of Superior Court
- Buncombe County Sheriff
- County Commissioner seats for Districts 1, 2, and 3
Filing Period for:
- all judicial offices is June 18, 2018 through June 29, 2018
- the Buncombe County Board of Education (Enka, Erwin, and Reynolds Districts) begins at noon on July 6, 2018 and ends at noon on Friday, August 3, 2018
- Soil & Water Conservation District Supervisor (2 seats) will begin at noon on June 11, 2018 and end at noon on July 6, 2018
