New Veterinary Assistant Course Starting

The Humane Alliance is excited to begin the first session of a new training program-- The Veterinary Assistant Course (VAC).  This is a 10-week certification course designed to help people start or strengthen a career in veterinary assisting. Participants will receive 100+ hours of instruction, including 60+ hours of labs.

Much like Humane Alliance’s other nationally recognized training programs, the VAC is a practical, hands-on experience, with small classes and lots of individual attention. The curriculum was developed by working closely with educators, veterinary professionals, and business owners, and therefore gives participants a well-rounded education focused on the needs of potential employers. Designed to accommodate working students, and at just $500 for the entire course, the VAC is an affordable way to gain entry to a rapidly expanding job market.

A program partnership with Asheville Humane Society and Buncombe County provides needed services to shelter animals, and gives our students exposure to the specific challenges of working with patients of all temperaments.

Our first group of students will start classes in August 2016, and applications are now open!
