Buncombe County librarians love our pets. They are part of our families and near to our hearts. That is why we are running a pet food collection drive for Meals on Wheels. Across Buncombe County, there are over 120 seniors with Meals on Wheels whose pets need food, too. From November through February, the Swannanoa library will be collecting pet food for those pets who give home-bound seniors and others the love and attention they need. Cat food and food for smaller dogs is especially needed, although anything from toys to litter and blankets are always appreciated, too! To kick off the pet food drive, we are sharing some of our pets' pictures. They want you to help fill their furry friends' bellies and their people's hearts.
