General Statement of Duties
Perform specialized work in software application implementation, support, training and troubleshooting of primarily vendor software solutions that support critical business functions. May involve development of supporting custom applications, interfaces, and database packages. (#910)
Examples of Work
Examine and analyze business processes, in order to implement and administer efficient business systems developed by vendor providers. Identify business solutions by evaluating options, resolving issues, and serving as a liaison between the business and the vendor to improve productivity. The qualified candidate employs excellent problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills, along with patience, a positive, customer-friendly attitude and the ability to work in a team environment. May perform some coding tasks in support of or to supplement vendor applications utilizing vendor defined programming or industry standard programming languages.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of the software development life cycle, including the ability to document requirements in writing and communicate effectively with county staff and third party vendors. Knowledge of software development languages and tools such as C#.NET, T-SQL 2008 or later, HTML5, Crystal Reports, Python and Microsoft Reporting Services.
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree with course work in computer science, information systems or a related field; supplemented by one years’ previous experience and/or training. Prefer knowledge of GIS systems and SQL Server 2008 or later with experience in creating queries and SSIS packages in order to analyze and to modify data.
