Do you have experience in appraisal work? Tax Assessment is hiring a Property Appraiser II to perform specialized administrative, technical, and limited supervisory work in appraising improved and vacant residential, commercial, and industrial properties within Buncombe County for tax purposes. Applicants must:

  • Attain a current certification as a tax appraiser by the Ad Valorem Tax Division of the North Carolina Department of Revenue. 
  • Have completed one or more additional advanced educational appraisal courses as approved by the Chief Real Estate Appraiser.  
  • Be in possession of a valid North Carolina driver's license.
