The North Carolina Room has some exciting changes planned for 2021, including a complete transformation of our public space. To prepare for these updates, the NC Room is now closed to the public. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in the near future to see our re-imagined room with relaxing spaces and freshly painted walls.
While the room is closed, we will still be able to take reference requests via phone and email. As our collection will be temporarily relocated for the duration of this process, there may be longer wait times for responses to research inquiries. In addition, we may not have access to all of the collection materials during this time. As always, we will do our best to assist you as quickly and thoroughly as we are able. We hope you will visit once we reopen to explore our new room and celebrate Western North Carolina’s diverse and rich history and culture.
