County Offices Closed Monday, Jan. 17 in Honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

All Buncombe County Government offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 17,  in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. See below for a list of services that will be affected. 

Update: As of Sunday, Jan. 16 all Buncombe County Parks, and the Landfill and Transfer Station will also be closed on Monday, Jan. 17 due to inclement weather. 

Health & Human Services: All BCHHS offices (including the COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic) will be closed Monday, Jan. 17.

Buncombe County Public Libraries: All libraries are closed on Monday, Jan. 17. The Digital Library is always open to browse thousands of titles. 

Recreation Services: All Buncombe County Parks will be closed for inclement weather on Monday, Jan. 17.

Solid Waste: Buncombe County Landfill and Transfer will be closed for inclement weather on Monday, Jan. 17. Waste Pro Services are suspended until further notice. 

Register of Deeds: The Buncombe County Register of Deeds will be closed while our online services will remain available. 

Mountain Mobility: Mountain Mobility will only be operating ADA paratransit on Monday, Jan. 17. No other trips will be served.

Buncombe County Courthouse: Buncombe County courts observe the North Carolina Judicial Branch Holiday schedule and will be closed Monday, Jan. 17.

Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office: Buncombe County Sheriff's Office front desk will be closed Monday, Jan. 17 all other operations will be on a normal schedule.

Emergency Services: Administrative offices Monday, Jan. 17. EMS and 911 maintain normal operations.

Buncombe County Animal Shelter: The animal shelter will be closed on Monday, Jan. 17.
