Important information for NC MEDICAID Beneficiaries

If you need medical care:

  • Early prescription refills are allowed and encouraged. Medicaid pharmacists know that Medicaid will allow early refills. Get your prescriptions refilled before the storm.
  • If you are evacuated, even out-of-state, Medicaid will cover a doctor visit. It is important to get the care you need, when and where you need it.

If you need, or are receiving behavioral health care:

  • If you are uninsured or are a Medicaid beneficiary, you can access care by calling your regional behavioral health Local Management Entity/Managed Care Organization (LME/MCO).
  • Opioid Treatment Programs have been advised to provide patients with four to six days of take-home medication to treat opioid-use disorders during the storm.
  • The Opioid Treatment Registry Map provides location on where those in medication assisted treatment programs can receive care if their normal provider is closed.

If you have questions:

  • Beneficiaries call the NC Medicaid Contact Center at 888-245-0179.
  • Providers call the NCTracks Call Center at 866-246-8505
