Asheville Art Museum Opens New Exhibit

The Asheville Art Museum is currently undergoing a renovating, but that’s not stopping them from releasing new exhibits. They have a temporary location you should definitely check out for this new presentation, Homeland.

It’s taking place daily from July 22 – September 17 at their temporary location, 175 Biltmore Avenue – which opens at 10am. Inspired by the Museum’s recent acquisition of Home Land, a cutting-edge contemporary basket by Eastern Band Cherokee artist Shan Goshorn, this exhibit explores the connections that southeastern Native artists have to their ancestral homelands. The works on view are drawn primarily from the collection of Lambert Wilson, a passionate collector of southeastern Native art for over 30 years.
