This year is the 51st anniversary of the Shindig on the Green weekly showcase. The Shindig, presented by the Folk Heritage Committee, has become somewhat of a mountain tradition, as families and folks from all over come to experience the beautiful music and dance traditions of Southern Appalachia. It's held outdoors at Pack Square Park and is free. The good times begin on Saturday, July 1st at sundown, typically from 7pm-10pm and will run through September 2. Concessions are available.
