Register of Deeds Begins e-Recording Plats

The Buncombe County Register of Deeds office is excited to offer another option for our local surveying community.  Since 2011 the office has offered eRecording for deeds and other property-related documents.  Many financial and legal companies now use this service, saving time and resources by recording documents electronically via the internet.

Recently, Register of Deeds Drew Reisinger began meeting with the local surveying companies about the possibility of extending the eRecording service to include the recording of land surveys. It became clear to Mr. Reisinger that, in this age of technology, there should be an easier, more efficient way to record surveys. Buncombe County is proud to be one of three counties in North Carolina who are on the leading edge of a pilot project which extends the convenience of eRecording to our surveyors. As of today, local surveyors can now record their documents electronically which is more cost effective and environmentally friendly.

If your company is interested in taking advantage of this service, please contact Register of Deeds Drew Reisinger (828) 250-4315 for more information.
