Short Story Contest for Kids at the Black Mountain Library

The Friends of the Black Mountain Library are sponsoring a short story contest for kids aged 17 and under. The contest is open to residents of Buncombe County or members of the Buncombe County Library System. Stories must be typed, double-spaced with a maximum length of 5000 words. Contact information, including name, age, phone number and email must be included on a cover page. All stories must be handed in at the Black Mountain Library, 105 N. Dougherty Street, by April 16, 2013. No electronic submissions will be accepted.

Two first prizes of $100 will be awarded, one to the winner of the age 12 and under category, and one to the winner of the age 13-17 category. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at the library on April, 30, 2013 at 7 pm. Stories must be collected at the awards ceremony. For more information contact the library at 250-4756.
