Buncombe County-- On March 22, 2018, Attorney General Josh Stein awarded Sheriff Van Duncan with the Attorney General’s Dogwood Award. The Dogwood Award is given to honor North Carolinians who are dedicated to keeping people safe, healthy and happy in their communities. The presentation was made at a drug take back event held at the Asheville Outlets. The event was sponsored by the North Carolina Attorney General’s Office, the State Bureau of Investigation, the North Carolina Department of Insurance, the Asheville Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office.
