If you're a theater-goer, you should definitely check out the Appalachian Summer Theatre Series. They feature many special events from the Asheville Community Theater, including Gary Carden's Outlander, taking place on Sunday, July 31 at 2PM at the UNCA Reuter Center.
A piece of Smoky Mountain history will come to the stage when Outlander, with music performed by Joe Penland, will be performed. The play tells the story of the creation of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, and will be performed by the Autumn Players.
